A 46-year old woman named Cheng Jianping has just been sentenced to a year of reeducation at a labor camp for retweeting a satirical message mocking anti-Japanese protesters who've been causing a ruckus over the Diaoyu/Senkaku islands.

Jailed journalists working on stories of human trafficking in China?
That's what the Washington Post reported. Laura Ling and Euna Lee, the two jailed American journalists, were working on a story about the trafficking of North Korean women in the border area of China and North Korea when they were detained. As you've no doubt heard, the two journalists have been sentenced to 12 years in a N. Korean labor camp, while people and governments around the world try their best to secure their release.
Teacher punished for quake photos
According to the NGO Human Rights in China, Liu Shaokun, a teacher from Sichuan Province has been sent to labor camp for having published photos of collapsed school bulidings in the quake hit area. After the earthquake, Liu photographed the damaged school buildings and posted his photos on line. He also expressed his anger over the low quality of these buildings in a newspaper interview.
