From the "Amazing discovery. We were walking down Lujiazhai Lu and noticed that the doorways on one side of the street had elaborate, thought badly chipped, stone decorations. A woman from nearby noticed our interest and tried to answer my question, where IS that Lu family residence that the street is named after? She suggested we look inside the courtyard and led us in. Past the tall gate suitable for a temple there was a courtyard full of squat concrete houses, and in the end of it stood a tall antique structure. Inside, through the suspended ladders and piles of materials we could see carvings and beams breathing with antiquity. The whole neighborhood agreed this building could well have been the Lu family ancestral hall in the past. Later I found out that the whole complex is called 陆琛宅, built sometime in mid-16th century!"
