Dwyane Wade in the hizzle, appearing Friday at Luwan Stadium

The NBA Finals MVP and seven-time NBA All-Star Dwyane Wade of the Miami Heat is in Shanghai to take part in a streetball competition tomorrow night at Luwan Stadium, featuring S.K.Y Streetball Syndicate against Street China. Though Wade won't be stepping on the court in Shanghai (contract stipulations often have stringent rules about offseason play), acting only as Street China's coach, there'll still be plenty of dope dribble-drives and an abundance of broken ankles: S.K.Y Streetball Syndicate is composed of And 1 Mixtape Tour veterans like Spyda, AO, Pat Da Roc, Mr. 720, I'll Be Right Back and T-Dub. more ›

The battle before the Battle of the Year

On the streets of cities all over the world, youth who claim 街头文化 (jietou wenhua or "street culture") repeat the word “Braunschweig” like some ancient mantra. The reason? The German city plays host to the annual Battle of the Year (BOTY), in which the world's finest hip hop dance crews compete for the respect of their peers and new razors from the competition's sponsor, Braun. For any breakdancer, a trip to Braunschweig to compete in the BOTY would be akin to Ralphie finding a Red Rider B.B. Gun on Christmas morning. more ›
