Yay! More weird mascots!

Another big event, another strange mascot to delight the children and adults (and by delight I mean confuse and terrify). Meet Jing Jing, the mascot of the 2011 World Aquatics Competiton that's taking place in Shanghai from July 16-31. He's a pair of swimming goggles with a mouth and no body - his limbs come off of his eyes (there are drawings of him for every event at the championship if you're curious). more ›

Those watching the 2010 Rose Parade in Pasadena, California may have noticed a fun little shout out. Our city (and its upcoming Expo) somehow made their way into the hours long spectacle, sandwiched between a Barnum & Bailey's themed marching of Scripps Miramar Saddlebred horses and the Pickerington Central Marching Tigers marching band (who was in the Macy's Day Parade as well). more ›

A Shanghai-based English copywriter has discovered some hilarious Chinglish slogans, including a new one for Haibao that explains the Shanghai Expo mascot's consistently happy visage. Since we've previously determined that Haibao is a boy mascot, all we can think of say to his slogan is... "Really? So soon?" more ›
