There's an abundance of networking events taking place this week, so whether you're old or young, speedy or slow, Canadian or Scottish, there's an opportunity for you to go forth and mingle.

When the summer heat starts making you drowsy this week, we recommend checking out some live music and art shows, networking with university alums, and ending the week with drunken KTV Shanghai Idol and the Not Me opening.

Today is the second and final day of the Shanghai leg of the inaugural China 2.0 Tour organised by our good friends from the China Business Network, Web2Asia and CNReviews. The week-long tour aims to give participants an overview of what's happening in the Chinese internet landscape and to provide opportunities for face-to-face interaction and networking. The list of China 2.0 participants coming in from overseas reads like a who's who of the internet sector, and we're talking about people like Mike Butcher (TechCrunch UK), Robert Scoble (Fast Company), Shel Israel (author of Naked Conversations) and Ernst-Jan Pfauth (The Next Web). Shanghaiist had the opportunity to meet some of these amazing guys last night at a dinner sponsored by Alibaba, and our night ended with a big party at the new M1NT Club. (Pity the party ended a bit too early but that didn't stop us from getting ourselves shit-faced.)

A couple updates about tomorrow night's gathering at Sasha's. First, we forgot to mention the wines that will be included in the half-price drink special. They are: Santa Rita 120 Sauvignon Blanc and Wolf Blass Eagle Hawk Shiraz/Cab/Merlot. Second, lots of people have asked¹ for more information about the music that will be played at the Happy Hour, so we have included a list of artists featured on the playlist under "Music" below.

You are all invited to join us Thursday night at Sasha's for the first Shanghaiist Happy Hour in a long, long time (nine months, to be exact). We think we have come up with a plan to avoid a similarly long gap between alcohol-related gatherings — the first Thursday of every month, we'll have a Shanghaiist Happy Hour featuring half-price drinks (and perhaps other special and great things) at Sasha's. And, as usual, these "happy hours" will not be limited to one hour (8 pm to midnight is what we're starting with).
