DJ Kentaro knows a thing or two about scratching up a storm and creating a wild night out. Lauded as one of his country's best hip hop artists, he's won the DMC Japan Championships twice. In 2002, he became one of the first Asians to take home first place at the World DMC Championship and was also the first champion in the history of the contest to get a perfect score. more ›

Last night's gig was much welcomed after a long drought in Shanghai's experimental/ indie electronic music scene (think DJ Krush back in December 2006), judging by the large turnout ready to party on a week night. Daedelus, outlandishly dandy as ever with massive sideburns (that would do well to give Gaz Coombes a run for his money), certainly did not disappoint. more ›

Shanghai DJ collective The Lab celebrates their second anniversary this weekend. As a sort of reverse birthday present, they've gifted us with turntablist wizard and mixologist DJ Kentaro. Kentaro is the 2002 DMC World Champion and a two-time DMC Japan Champion, so he knows a thing or two about scratching records. But don't just take our word for it.
