Since 2007 Paulaner Brauhaus has brought a taste of a Bavarian Christmas market to Shanghai. Christmas markets have their roots in medieval Bavaria, when locals would gather in the snowy public squares of their hometowns to drink wine, eat bratwurst, chat with their neighbors, and buy small gifts from numerous stands.

The That's Shanghai Food & Drink Award winners were released over the weekend, for all you foodies that are curious about what Shanghai likes. And what Shanghai likes, for the most part, is established chains - whether or not they are actually the "best" in their categories. Hey, don't get huffy with us. The guys at That's Shanghai thought the same thing.
Opening Soon: Boxing Cat Brewery
We were invited to a private beer tasting at the soon to be opened Boxing Cat Brewery, and we always enjoy free food and beer (even if it is in Minhang).
