Over the weekend, China’s Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Culture jointly launched Linese.com, a website dedicated to spreading Chinese language and culture abroad.(Wouldn’t LearnChinese.com or something similar be a better name?) Anyway, Shanghaiist isn’t so sure why the Chinese government is suddenly spearheading this move, the whole operation has a Borg-ish feel to it.
