As we get closer to July 7, the day of Al Gore’s Live Earth concert, more info has popped-up on the official artist line-up in Shanghai:
Confirmed artist line-up for Live Earth?
Who will perform at Live Earth Shanghai?
Or more like who won't be performing. We've already told you about Live Earth, Al Gore's 24-hour, 7-continent series of concerts on 7/7/07. Well, lists of performers at different venues (cities participating are: East Rutherford, New Jersey [near New York]; London; Rio de Janeiro; Maropeng [near Johannesburg]; Tokyo; Shanghai; and Sydney) are starting to be announced. First up, the US and the UK.
The best music of 2006 ... so far
Shanghaiist asked its contributors (and a few "music people" in town) to list their five favorite albums released (or yet-to-be released) somewhere in the world in 2006. Got a list of your own? Submit your favorite 2006 music as a comment to this post. Enjoy!
Shanghaiist Happy Hour III: Featuring Mint and Ferris Wheel
One week from now you should be busy coating your stomachs with milk, getting ready for the 100-kuai-all-you-can-drink special at Shanghaiist Happy Hour III at Shuffle Bar. We have settled on the bands for the evening of Friday, April 21, as well. Kicking things off at around 10 will be local indie-pop outfit Ferris Wheel, followed by blues rockers Mint.
Crying into our pasta
In the scheme of enjoyable outings, Shanghaiist rates a night at the opera fairly high. Not as high as the time we saw Fugazi at Metropolis in Brisbane, but certainly higher than a night on the couch watching Average Joe.
