We already know about the Chinese government's obsession with blocking porn. It's brought us the web portal clean up, the Green Dam and - most recently - the heinous Google block. But now they're even tearing down websites that are about sexual health.

The more filial amongst us know that Father's Day was this past Sunday. The Adult Care Expo is in town and we, being the naughty naughty children we are, decided to give it a look see earlier this morning. Was it everything we hoped it would be? Unfortunately, no. The mother had come to Shanghai after her husband's death from cancer and began to feel poorly. Lately, lots of people have been stumbling on this website through Google searches of Zhang Ziyi (章子怡) while other concerned readers have been writing in to us wondering about our curious silence on Zhang Ziyi's latest paparazzi photos, the biggest celebrity scandal to hit China after Edison Chen's "sexy photo gate". Well those pictures, all 81 of them, belong to X71online.com who's been known to sue bloggers for using their pictures without permission (even the great Perez Hilton has stopped using their pics after getting sued by them for US$7.5 million). Those brave ballsy souls at ChinaSmack, though, have ripped the pictures and put all of them up on their website. Another day, another Kappa Girl story. Looks like our good friend has caught the attention of professional pornographers and may finally be getting her big break soon. The Shanghai Daily reports that a 40 year old man has been arrested in Nanjing for "forcing dozens of young men" to provide gay sex services, some of whom he also forced to have sexual relations with himself. Citing the Yangtze Evening News, the report said "about 80 percent of [the man's] 'little brothers' were not gay but were forced or fooled into joining the business. The youngest was only 18." The operation supposedly catered to over 100 clients a day including "a professor from a prestigious university in Nanjing... and local government officials" (were they caught, we wonder?) who paid RMB300 for their first visit and RMB200 for repeat visits. The man took a 30% cut from his sex workers and reportedly even charged them RMB10 per condom if they asked for it.

UPDATE: 'Kappa Girl' detained by Shanghai police!

Big week in food safety and health-related news. First the melamine eggs and the tainted soy sauce and wasabi, then the cholera outbreak in Hainan, and now this — 10 men have died in Singapore from complications resulting from the consumption of illegal China-made sex enhancement pills. The Straits Times reports:

ILLEGAL sex enhancement pills have killed six more men here in the past five months, bringing the drug's death toll to 10 this year.

Danwei points us to the funniest thing we've seen in a long while. We're not sure if this was actually produced for television or just the internet, but this infomercial for a Chinese magic pill which claims to help cure 快男 or "fast men" (a play on Hunan TV's "Super Boys" talent show) of male erectile dysfunction sho' cracked us up!

• Take note, all you kinky bastards out there. Novelty chocolate body spreads manufactured in Zhongshan, Guangdong and sold in sex shops across Britain have been found to contain melamine. In New Zealand, chocolate body pens and spreads have also been taken off the shelves. Edible toys from your local sex store are not a good idea. Make a trip to the organic food store instead.
• In Korea, melamine has been found in processed egg products from China such as duck’s yolk powder, egg power, albumen power and yolk liquid. Authorities have ordered the immediate destruction of 23.2 tons currently held by importers.
• 2 more made-in-China biscuit products manufactured under the Korean brand Lotte have been found to contain melamine in the Philippines.

               

Chinese kids are starting early these days. Someone over at the PCPop.com forum with a nephew attending first grade looked through his textbooks one day and was shocked at what sex education for first graders looks like in China these days — funny cartoons, witty dialogues, testicles that talk to one another, and cool-looking Mr Condoms wearing shades.
