A couple stories that you may have seen on Shanghaiist recently have ended up in the mainstream media.

A Shanghaiist commenter pointed out that the Shanghai Racquet Club has adjusted the page on its website that earlier this week said ayis and other domestic helpers were required to sit in the back of club buses and would be treated as "sub load" cargo, required to vacate buses should club members need their seats.
