These controversial urinals, depicting kneeling Japanese soldiers with their mouths open wide, were recently snapped and posted on Weibo. Located in a Harbin hotel, they have been dubbed 靖国神厕, a reference to the Yasukuni Shrine in Japan.

Beijing confirms killing of Chinese civilian by Burmese soldiers
In a show of lightning-fast diplomacy, Beijing has finally commented on a Chinese civilian murdered by Burmese/Myanmarese soldiers who crossed over the Chinese border two months ago. Lahpai Zau Lawn, an ethnic Kachin (Jingpo) farmer was killed on January 12th, despite being on the Yunnan side of the Sino-Burmese border. His relatives say he was shot at close range, twice in the head and once in the abdomen.

As part of their winter endurance training, cadets at the Second Artillery Command College and military police trainees based in Altay, Xinjiang train outdoors in temperatures as low as minus 35 degrees celsius and rub handfuls of snow on their bare chests.
