We ask because for our June 15 Happy Hour at Abbey Road we are piecing together a playlist made up of all Beatles songs sung by other people. Personally, we are partial to just about anything by Elliott Smith, but we know there are many, many options out there — the Beatles are the most covered band in music history (or so we read somewhere).

Not that we’ve ever taken Shanghai for being un-eclectic, but a weekend of 80s themes (anyone else find Peijin attractive in cinnamon rouge?), skateboarding in Fuxing Park and experimental electronic at Live Bar (?) on the Lord’s Day leaves us most un-loquacious.

Spin-doctors claim that four Finnish groups touring China will perform for a “potential audience in each city from 4 to 17 million.” It may seem a little ambitious to expect the entire population of each city to turn out for the wacky electro performers, but despite the hype it’s worth checking out, especially since entry is free.
