Around Shanghai: Pollution art, Turkey Day, and Bar Rouge blows out candles

A few weeks ago the metro stop at People's Square was turned from a bastion of commercialism into a moving display of environmental art. Friends of ours have joked before that they didn't believe Thomas L. Friedman when he proclaimed that "The World is Flat" till they saw the chests of the girls waitressing at Hooters here. Adrian Baschuk from Current TV checks out the Shanghai outlet (which has the distinction of being China's very first Hooters). He seemed to really like it and was even thinking of going back there for Thanksgiving!

Big Bird! The Thanksgiving week has been, appropriately, quite busy in regards to China's ongoing bout against the deadly avian influenza virus. Even our precious hometown Shanghai is beginning to feel the pinch.
