91-year-old thief and 77-year-old accomplice nabbed in Keelung, Taiwan
Two elderly gentlemen whose ages add up to 168 have been nabbed in Keelung, Taiwan for stealing. They have been known to strike in crowded lifts where people least expect to be robbed. The older, more experienced, 91-year-old thief was recently apprehended along with his 77-year-old accomplice by fellow lift passengers when he attempted to leave after having successfully stolen a man's wallet. Over the years, he has been caught for stealing for more than 10 times, but his brushes with the law seem to have done nothing to his stealing habit. Watch him do his thing in the video below.
WANTED: Shanghai expat gang of reservation book thieves!
Seriously, who does this? Three skeezy-looking twenty-something males in cheap suits are apparently involved in a crime ring that specializes in stealing reservation books from Shanghai's Italian restaurants. The management at Da Marco have recently released this video of the criminals caught in the act:
Video: Chinese pickpockets using chopsticks!
Apparently there are entire chopsticks gangs running around busy Chinese streets, preying on pedestrians ripe for the plucking! Who knows the necessary extent of kuaizi dexterity one must weld to pull metal and plastic from unsuspecting pockets, but these guys are clearly cashing out on their insane skills.
Watch out! Pickpockets targeting Wulumuqi and Anfu Lu
The next time you go by Wulumuqi Lu or Anfu Lu, please be on the look out for pickpockets, especially if you're a cyclist. Shanghaiist just witnessed two very close call pickpocketing attempts on this corner. This is what went down: Yours truly was enjoying a meal at Zest Express's Wulumuqi location preparing to write up another Cafetique review when we saw the manager of Zest's, Franck Krynen and his friend suddenly run out the door.
