We told you yesterday about a school bus tragedy in Zhengning (正宁) County of Qingyang (庆阳) City in Western China's Gansu province in which a minibus overcrowded with preschoolers crashed with a truck, killing 20 and injuring dozens. Public anger is now rising over the incident, which today topped the list of trending topics on Sina Weibo, China's most popular microblogging platform.
Explosion in Xi'an snack bar kills 7, injures 31
7 people have been killed and 31 injured, after an explosion took place this morning in the Shaanxi provincial capital of Xi'an. Reports have it that the explosion occurred due to a gas leakage from a tank inside a snack bar, located inside Jiatian International Mansion (嘉天国际大厦) in Xi'an's hi-tech industrial district.

In the wake of the tragic death of Yueyue, mourners in several cities throughout China held candlelit vigils and impromptu memorials recently to commemorate her passing. The South China Morning Post reports that nearly 200 people gathered yesterday at the hardware market where Yueyue was run over and ignored by pedestrians to hand out free hugs, and to also declare war on apathy and cold-heartedness.
At least 35 43 dead and 210 injured in high-speed train crash
At least 35 43 people were killed and over 210 injured in a horrific high-speed rail collision in Wenzhou, Zhejiang at about 8:30pm last night. The accident happened when one train, D3115, lost power after being struck by lightening, and then was rear-ended by another train, D301. A total of six carriages were derailed, two falling from the viaduct.
Tragedy: 41 die in Henan bus fire
(Warning: gallery contains graphic imagery) 41 passengers perished in a bus fire that occurred outside of Xinyang city (信阳) in Henan province at approximately 4am today. 47 passengers were on board an overcrowded double-decker overnight bus designed to seat 35, with the six survivors all having suffered burns to various degrees. At least one survivor is in a critical condition at a nearby hospital.
