In keeping with his practise of giving new year's predictions, US televangelist and host of The 700 Club on the Christian Broadcasting Network, Pat Robertson has fresh revelation from the Lord concerning 2008:

"What I'm praying about is China. I'm asking for 250 million in China. We haven't had that breakthrough yet but I think we're going to get it. God's going to give us China. And China will be the largest Christian nation on the face of the earth. They're going to come to Jesus."

The blog Lost Laowai has started a group writing project called "If I Knew Then What I Know Now." The general idea is for other bloggers to write about what they thought about China before actually moving out here and how different the reality actually is. Once the writer has finished the post, he/she can notify Lost Laowai and have it put up on the consolidated submission list for everyone's reading pleasure.

Yesterday afternoon, Shanghaiist noticed on its Twitter stream that some China-based users were having problems accessing the newly redesigned (wonderful in fact) Danwei site. Blocked blogger, The Weifeng Radish, noted it can only be accessed by an anonymising proxy. Prolific Shanghai blogger and journalist Fons Tuinstra over at The China Herald popped out a post musing about their situation.

On the heels of yet another show brought down by the man (add Jet Echo’s Saturday show at Live Bar to that list), a night of power ballads was just what we needed. While our friends might be few, they did have an eighth row seat to the Sydney duo’s Halloween show at the Shanghai Grand Stage.

After various sources pointed out that Chinese actress/director/blogger/celeb extraordinaire Xu Jinglei's mega-popular blog flew completely underneath the radar of blog search engines and ranking sites such as Technorati, the folks over at Technorati made some changes, and now Xu's blog has displaced Boing Boing as its top ranking blog.
