Let’s face it, Jackie Chan is having pretty bad month. After being outed as a hypocrite, he’s about to be investigated by Hong Kong police over claims he used “guns and grenades” to fend off attacks from triad members.
Chan said he was forced to protect himself after gang members tried to extort money:
“I pulled out a gun, and had two more concealed. I told them they had been going too far and that I had been hiding from them. Later on, I confronted them with two guns and six grenades,” he was quoted as saying.
Continuing to earn his reputation for being a stand-up guy, Chan managed to find time to condone robbery:
“As long as there are people, there are thieves,” he said. “If you can get away with gold from HSBC without hurting anyone, that’s wonderful, and I think you are a genius. But it is unforgivable to injure anyone if you hold hostages.”
The police said that they would be looking into his remarks, but made no comment on whether they would be questioning him. “We will see what he has said in the interview first,” a spokesman said.
In less explosive news, Chan has confirmed that he will be appearing in the Expendables 3 with Sylvester Stallone. Previous instalments performed well at the box office, and fabulouslynotso well with critics.
