Party time in Shanghai, the first weekend of 2013 arrived. Wait a second, there’s nothing much going on? Oh that’s right, most of the working people won’t go out late since they enjoy an 8 day non-stop working days marathon courtesy of those f*cked up holiday rules. Me not like. But if you wanna go out, here are some of the scarce options anyway. And if that’s still not enough, head over to our calendar for more.
Jasmine Li @ Shiva
Jasmine Li, Shanghai’s unrivaled queen of progressive house and electro is playing at Shiva again. You know what that means: Non-Stop great beats, no cover charge. Fresh flowers. You can’t make a mistake spending your (late) night here.
Free // 11pm // 47 Yongfu Lu, near Fuxing Lu (永福路47号, 近复兴路)
Crazy Hospital @ Hollywood
Nope, I don’t find hospitals sexy or welcoming. Not one bit. But I get it. If you don’t know what kinda party to throw and you’re going through all the clichéd, sexy, gimmicky party concepts, there’s a chance that sooner or later sexy nurses in tight latex dresses cross your mind. Only problem is that nurses never turn out to look like that. So Shanghai party animals, it’s your job to change that. On the musical side, expect mass-compatible tunes – the stuff sexy party nurses and doctors dig.
9pm // 46 Yueyang Lu, near Dongping Lu, 岳阳路46号，近东平路
Deck FX: New Year Edition @ DADA
We’ve seen a lot of D’n’B happening in the last few weeks. Looks like 2013 has no intentions to change that. Headliner DJ Blackie comes from Beijing to bring you quality drum & bass, along with Roo and Resinate. D’n’B, dubstep, bass, jungle & co on rotation at Dada. Free to get in? You betcha.
Free // 10pm // Dada // No. 115 Xingfu Lu, near Fahuazhen Lu (幸福路115号, 近法华镇路)
High Contrast @ Zeal
Zeal is one of those places I personally don’t have on the radar too often. But then once in a while they come up and surprise with pretty cool stuff. Although it’s a bit awkward that they place this one on a Sunday night, you might wanna check it out. Since it’s a working weekend, it doesn’t make a big difference anyway. High Contrast is a British D’n’B producer, and his works are pretty approachable and catchy even if you’re not too keen on D’n’B. After several successful remix works, he contributed some of the music for the London Summer Olympics this year. Support DJs: Renjah, Siesta, Sonic, Sword L., Ruffian.
100 RMB // 10pm // Zeal // 6/F, 22 Zhongshan Dong Er Lu, near Xin Yongan Lu (中山东二路22号6楼，近新永安路)
