A Henan man peeled his parents flesh off in a dispute over money, Jiangsu Television reported Wednesday.
Both of his parents were left seriously injured by their son’s vicious knife attack. The father’s leg and hand may be permanently disabled, while the mother suffered injuries to her head and some internal organs.
Zhou, 30, who graduated from college eight years ago, is unemployed and dependent on his parents for financial support.
One day before Lunar New Year, Zhou attacked his father after having an argument about money to purchase a house. Several days later, Zhou attacked his mother and peeled her whole scalp off, leaving his mother in a critical condition.
“I want to give him a chance to amend, and will not accuse him of injuring because he is my child,” the father said.
Some relatives said the whole family was proud of Zhou for his high level of education. After graduation, Zhou seldom contacted the family and only returned home to ask for money.
Zhou’s crimes have become a heated topic on Sina Weibo, where many netizens condemned him as an “inhumane animal” and criticised China’s education system for failing to teach him any morals.
