A Hong Kong mother drugged her five year old son and allowed a pedophile to sexually abuse him on three occasions in exchange for money, a court heard Thursday.
Simon Tam Man-fai, senior assistant director of public prosecutions, told the Court of First Instance that the woman met the man on the internet and knew he was a paedophile. But she allowed her son to be molested for money. She also had sex with him herself, Tam said.
The prosecution said she took the boy to the man’s flat in Sham Tseng three times between April and September 2011. The assaults took place inside the flat.
“Every time the defendant took the child to the man, she knew clearly the man would have sex with the boy. Every time, she took the boy there, she would put him on a drug to reduce the pain and let him forget what had happened,” Tam told the court.
The crimes only came to light when the woman’s employer ran a standard check on her instant messaging account, discovering 39 pages of conversation between the mother and the man she pimped her son out to.
Policeman Leung Chun-yu, who arrested the woman, testified that she told him she knew the man from the internet. She admitted taking her son to Shum Tseng to meet the man, he said.
The trial continues.
