A 51-year-old man has trained himself to roll down flights of stairs at Xi’an Changle Park as a way to work out and alleviate pressure. Dozens of morning strollers often take his exercise as a form of performance art, according to Oriental Daily.
The stair-roller, a man surnamed Li, puts both hands around his neck and rolls himself down from the top of a 20-level staircase without sustaining marks. He then rolls himself upward after a small break and repeats the steps.
“Li’s been practicing every day and now has a robust body,” said one person who commonly sees Li as he does morning exercises in the park.
Li revealed that he’s been practicing the stair exercises for more than three years. He rolls down the stairs very slowly in order to protect himself from injury, and says he feels relieved after rolling up and down.
HOWEVER, he does not recommend others try to imitate his workout because without proper training, it could easily cause injury.
Li ran several marathon races and is also an amateur motorcycle rider who took part in the Taklimakan Rally in 2007 and the Dakar Rally in 2009. Hardcore dude.
