In order to help pay the heavy medical costs for her grandson’s leukemia treatment, one enterprising Sichuan grandma has set up a roadside stand selling sex dolls to migrant workers.
The woman surnamed Yang sells the workers “temporary wives” for just 298 yuan a piece.
As part of her sales technique, she disguises herself as a man while hawking the blow-up dolls. If necessary, she will also provide home delivery.
According to NetEase, Yang’s family is originally from Sichuan. She moved to Langfang, Hebei province, to be with her sick grandson. “My grandson is so cute, I could not bear to leave him,” she said.
When the family ran out of money to pay for the little boy’s treatment at a local hospital, the granny came up with the idea of capitalizing on all the lonely migrants in the area by starting a business in sex dolls.
Of course, she is not the only family member in China who has had to resort to unconventional methods to pay for cancer treatments for their loved ones. One Shanxi man dressed up as a woman to appeal for charity to help fund his sick son’s medical care. A young mother in Chongqing sold hugs to commuters to raise money for her daughter’s treatment. One Hefei man even begged on the street wearing a horse mask and offering to give pedestrians a ride for five yuan to help raise money for his son’s leukemia treatment.
