We thought it couldn’t possibly get any more ridiculous, but apparently some wisecrack out there decided to add to the ever-growing list of nonsense ways to measure your wrist fitness using money.
Last month, the challenge was to wrap a 100 yuan note around your wrist, if your wrist is totally covered by the cash, yippee! You are a golden god.
This month’s challenge is geared more toward the 99%. A 1 yuan coin is 25 millimeters in diameter, so by the magic of science, just place the thing on your wrist, see if it “covers” your wrist and BOOM MAGIC if it does you’ve passed the test. Congrats!
Once again, the fitness challenge has gone viral on Weibo, with nearly 15 million views and 20,000 comments.
And just like its predecessors it has also generated considerable debate online, with many coming forward to say that this kind of challenge reflects a unhealthy attitude toward beauty, and that healthy is better than skinny. The popularity of these online trends also comes at a time when eating disorders are thought to be on the rise in China.
