Summer is here. Ladies in skirts, beware!
On Friday, one young man tried to sneakily take some pics up a young woman’s skirt while they were both waiting in line to board a Line 2 train at the Shanghai Metro’s Century Avenue station.
However, he wasn’t quite sneaky enough. While his actions weren’t noticed by the victim, they were spotted by another commuter, who snapped some pictures and later uploaded them to Weibo.
The post has since received nearly 2,000 shares and over 4,000 comments. What’s more, it has allowed China’s infamous human flesh search engine to do its work, identifying the perv as a student at the Shanghai University of Applied Sciences.
On Weibo, the school has confirmed that the man is one of their students, obviously they also strongly condemned his actions and said that they will be cooperating with police in the investigation.
This isn’t the first time that we’ve had problems with pervs on the subway. Back in 2014, a gentleman was detained for 5 days for taking upskirt photos on the Shanghai Metro. The year before, a Shanghai mall built a glass skywalk, much to the delight of the city’s voyeurs. An earlier in-depth investigation by Southern Metropolis Daily showed that it was in fact easier for creeps to take pics up women’s skirts when everything is transparent.
Last month, a creep was spotted at a bus station in Hefei, Anhui province, casually walking around with his cell phone in hand and taking upskirt photos of four or five short-skirted victims.
Be careful out there:
