Do you have a special, tranquil place where you like to curl up with a good book? Well, for at least two students at Shandong Normal University, that place is apparently just outside their windows.
A couple of pictures went viral online earlier this week. This one shows a male student casually leaning against a wall outside on the 5th floor of a building, reading on the edge.
Another pic from the same university shows a female university student doing exactly the same thing, only just one story up this time.
Netizens have been discussing just what exactly is going on with this bizarre phenomenon.
“Straight-A students are the best at everything, they don’t even have acrophobia,” one netizen commented.
“What the hell?! This is an awful idea to read on the edge like that, it’s really dangerous! I think that they either have a screw loose or just want to arouse attention,” speculated another.
“You guys don’t understand what’s it’s like for straight-A students. They need to escape from all the stupid people around them,” explained another web user.
Instead of squatting on his chair as his dorm room filled with water, maybe this Wuhan student should have just gotten some fresh air as well.
Meanwhile, there has been a trend recently of amateur Chinese rooftoppers sharing their videos online:
