From now till Aug 31, each child under 16 years of age can dine free when accompanied by one paying adult.

Californian-Japanese fusion inspired restaurant, Hatsune, has become a go-to place for many sushi-loving families. The wide selection of rolls, sashimi, bento boxes, and tempura dishes ensure that there’s something for every palate, even the pickiest of eaters! Kids adore the fresh fruit juices, chicken teriyaki, chicken tara agi – deep-fried boneless chicken, chawanmushi (egg custard), stir-fried udon noodles, and they can eat sticky sushi rice to their heart’s content. And for children aged 5 or older, they’ve even got private sushi-making classes where kids will learn to make up to three types of sushi. A minimum of 10 students is required for each private class.

Nepali Kitchen has been opened for 12 years and has been serving authentic Nepali style BBQ, marinated, grilled and curry dishes. Tastefully located in a rustic renovated lane house on Julu Lu, Nepali Kitchen has a cosy decor, with their interior specially designed to make guests feel comfortable and at home. There are cushioned seating areas suitable for family gatherings and also a private dining room for groups up to 10. The hearty signature beef curry dish (￥75) is cooked in thin gravy with various spices and is perfect for a wholesome family meal.

Fountain at Hongqiao Tiandi has launched a kids’ menu featuring renowned favorites such as their Fish & Chips (mini-sized of course), as well as pancake “burgers” filled with ice cream! In addition,all fresh fruit juices and smoothies, chicken nuggets and pasta dishes are all under ￥40. There is plenty of safe outdoor space for kids to explore, and coloring pencils are also available here so your kids can entertain themselves while you eat!

French style bistro Epices & Foie Gras, features an indoor kid’s playground and is conveniently located in the backstreet of Nanjing Lu and People’s Square. Their adult brunch set meals are ￥218 and kids’ sets are ￥58. For the kids’ set, you can either choose from having the coquilettes pasta with ham and cheese topping or the beef burger with french fries / soft drinks or fresh juices.
