Forbes recently released its list of the top 10 highest paid actresses in the world, and one name may surprise some — Fan Bingbing — stuck between Charlize Theron and Jennifer Aniston.
While American audiences may kinda recognize Fan as Blink in the 2014 blockbuster X-Men: Days of Future Past, she is of course a pretty big deal here — women want to look like her; beluga whales want to make out with her. China’s most popular actress earned $17 million in the past year by starring in domestic films like Skiptrace, Lady of the Dynasty and League of Gods. Putting her yearly paycheck above Hollywood stars like Charlize Theron, Amy Adams, Julia Roberts and Mila Kunis — even if she’s not getting J-Law money.
Actually, that is even $4 million less than she earned last year when she was ranked #4 on this list. As you’d expect, Fan always does well on these kinds of lists. In 2015, a list was published online disclosing how much moolah Chinese starlets were getting paid. It was revealed that Fan was charging 30 million yuan in total for her appearances in TV series. Hope she’s investing all this well.
In 2014, Fan starred in the high-budget historical drama The Empress of China. The series was briefly pulled off the air when Fan Bingbing’s cleavage proved to be too much for Chinese censors to handle.
Anyway, here’s the top ten:
10) Deepika Padukone ($10 million)
9) Mila Kunis ($11 million)
8) Julia Roberts ($12 million)
7) Amy Adams ($13.5 million)
6) Charlize Theron ($16.5 million)
5) Fan Bingbing ($17 million)
4) Jennifer Aniston ($21 million)
3) Scarlett Johansson ($25 million)
2) Melissa McCarthy ($33 million)
1) Jennifer Lawrence ($46 million)
