This Sunday is your final chance to catch one Michelin star Chef Gleb Snegin, in town for the “Dressed Up 2016” Michelin Dining Experience at Le Royal Méridien Shanghai, an extraordinary culinary event that will see four European chefs take foodies on a spectacular gastronomic journey over the next four months.
As a child growing up in Russia, Snegin spent a lot of time observing his mother and grandmother in the kitchen. Upon graduation, he started working as a Chef de Rang and for seven years as a waiter and Maître d’.
In 2001, he moved to Milan, where he worked initially on serving, and then one day, his life was to change forever. “The chefs were all sick and the owner asked me to lend a hand in the kitchen,” he says. “It was my lucky day, because from that point on I started to do the work that I loved.”

From 2002 to 2005 Snegin was Commis and Chef de Partie at the Chandelier restaurant in Milan, and after a short stint at Peter Leeman’s JOIA restaurant in Milan, he arrived in 2006 at La Fermata in Castelnovo.
After spending some time at two two-star restaurants — the Gambero Rosso restaurant in San Vincenzo and the Trussardi Alla Scala in Milan — Snegin jumped at the opportunity to open a restaurant at the Raffles Hotel in Tianjin. The great highlight of his career came in 2015 when he picked up a Michelin star for his work at the Terrazza Restaurant at Galaxy Macau.
