A Hunan university has just built a new building for its graduate students featuring a classy men’s bathroom with three stalls — two regular ones and one for the exhibitionists.
Instead of a solid wall with small windows on one end, designers opted for the less-traditional full-length window, exposing not only all the urinals to prying eyes, but one of the squat toilets as well. Photos of this end stall with a view have gone viral on Chinese social media and have left many netizens and students feeling a little pee shy.
Some simply cannot believe the design oversight and think that the window must be made from one-way glass… which would make it a bit less creepy, we guess.
The bathroom was likely designed by whoever designed those transparent walkways in Shanghai. No undercover cameras needed here, folks!
Still, China has a reputation for being a bit more open about body waste than some other places. Budget hotels across the country (and one Wuhan college) are filled with awkwardly transparent, “economical” bathrooms.
This year, Chongqing even introduced some very public urinals.
