Remember the woman who offered her crab-peeling services on Taobao? Well, we think we know where those shells ended up.
Bemused netizens have taken to Weibo to comment on this glorious crab-mecha in typical fashion.
“The death of this crab was worth it,” one affirmed, with another remarking, “Leave it overnight and you’ll know how much it stinks.”
There was also a comment which pointed out that the tap was still running. Save water. Save life.
This particular crab-Gundam hybrid looks just like the MBF-P02 Gundam Astray Red Frame — whatever that may mean.
It’s not the only one out there either. There’s at least one more, made from lobster shells.
Coincidentally, these images coincide perfectly with the highly-anticipated beginning of the hairy crab fishing season in Eastern China.
About the size of a human palm, hairy crabs are considered a Shanghai/Eastern China delicacy featuring a lot of fatty, gooey, high-cholesterol roe, while the meat itself is believed to have a “cooling” effect on the body, according to traditional Chinese medicine. The crabs are tied, steamed until vibrant red in bamboo containers, and served with vinegar.
After you’re done, feel free to play with your food:
They could totally make a whole industry out of this.
