Superstar Chinese swimmer Fu Yuanhui went out into the wilderness with Bear Grylls and returned back alive, if a little grossed out.
Last week, Fu gave her 7.5 million followers on Weibo a short preview of the upcoming adventure show “Absolute Wild” hosted by international outdoorsman Bear Grylls and featuring various Chinese celebrities. “I ate something strange and I did something very cool,” Fu wrote, “I am very satisfied with myself.”
Fur was one of four Chinese celebrities so far to travel to Ngawa Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture in northwestern Sichuan Province with Grylls. According to ECNS, the strange thing she ate was uncooked snake, the cool thing she did was walk on a single plank bridge over a rushing river.

The other brave celebs to particpate so far have been Baidu CEO Robin Li, who chowed down on raw yak meat; retired football star Fan Zhiyi, who dined on live marmots; and Taiwanese singer Bowie Tsang.
Part of the experience was live-streamed to fans on Youku from the middle of the Sichuan wilderness. Episodes will be broadcast later this year on the Discovery Channel and Shanghai-based Dragon TV.
Grylls also plans to return to China in November to take more celebs into the wild — we think that means you Yao.
