Deca Dance @ Shanghai International Dance Centre
Renowned dance company based in Israel, Batsheva Dance Company‘s contemporary choreographer & artistic director Ohad Naharin has been hailed as one of the world’s most influential choreographers. Naharin has created an innovative, sensation-based movement language called Gaga dance, which has revolutionized the company’s training. It is a force in the larger field of movement practices for both dancers and non-dancers. Held at the Shanghai International Dance Center, a selection of Batsheva Dance Company’s most memorable pieces will be performed at their new stage show, Deca Dance.

Luo Yongjin @ OFOTO Gallery
A passionate lover of life, artist Luo Yongjin’s works shows the world through his eyes and how he is able to elevate ordinary objects to another realm of reality to inspire viewers. Starting from his works back in 1997, everything he has photographed is man-made and have no longer featured humans as subjects. The silence and the peaceful solitude of his works, engages the viewers’ minds in the complicated dynamics and societal constructs of human society. Catch this exhibit from 10am-6pm everyday, and it is ongoing until the 21st of October.

Open Mic @ Yuyintang
Yuyintang puts on an open mic night, inviting all musicians and singers to grace the stage with their talent. Bring your own equipment and show Shanghai what you can do, jam with cool musicians and get in the live music scene.

On the Stage of Life @ M97 gallery
From today until November 12th, M97 Gallery hosts an exhibition of a collection of vintage photographs from the fifties and 60s by renowned award-winning photographer Fan Ho. He has won 280 awards from international exhibitions and competitions worldwide since 1956 and is also a celebrated film directorand actor. Admission is free.

Monet’s Impression @ Hopson One
A multimedia exhibition based on the works of French impressionist master Claude Monet, this exhibit showcases digital versions of the artists work. This interactive exhibit offers a panoramic view of Monet’s paintings arranged in chronological order. There are holographic imaging combined with touch-sensitive technology. This exhibit is ongoing until the December 26th.
