Ever wanted to be a dancing auntie? Well, there’s an app for that!
The app, Tangdou Guangchangwu (糖豆广场舞), is focused on helping women of a certain age get together to dance the night away. Need to learn some new moves? Watch some video tutorials on the app. Need to tell all the girls when and where to meet? Coordinate on the app. Need some new recruits to help push some cars out of the way to make more room for dancing? Send out an invitation on the app.
Earlier this month, the the potential goldmine of an app received $15 million in Series B Funding.
People’s Daily explains that investors believe that Tangdou Guangchangwu has tapped into a unique market with money to spend. Dancing damas often control the purse in their families, deciding on when and where to make trips, making travel agencies and financial service providers potential partners for the app.
Furthermore, being a dancing dama also means spending money on outfits, radios and bullet-proof vests, providing additional opportunities for advertisers.
