A married couple suspected of stealing thousands of flowers from around Shanghai Disneyland have been arrested by police in Pudong.
According to The Paper, the migrant couple would arrive very early in the morning at the Shanghai International Tourism and Resorts Zone, where Shanghai Disneyland is located, and get to snipping as many flowers as they possibly could from the flower beds planted around the roadsides.
When police caught them red-handed one morning last month, they found around 2,500 golden chrysanthemums inside their van. They told police that they planned to take these flowers and sell them at markets in Hangzhou and other nearby cities. They added that they had done this before multiple times.
However, it turns out that these two aren’t the only ones to think of this get-rich-quick scheme. In the past few months, police have arrested over 10 people suspected of snipping up 300,000 yuan worth of flowers from Shanghai Disneyland.
