Shanghai now has a new most adorable resident after a one-month-old baby orangutan was introduced to the public at the Shanghai Zoo last Friday.
This little guy becomes the first orangutan to ever be born at the Shanghai Zoo. His proud parents — mom, Fei Fei, and dad, Bin Bin — both arrived in Shanghai in July 2012 from the Philippines. Female orangutans only give birth once every 7 to 9 years, so this is kind of a big deal.
The baby orangutan does not yet have a name, and the zoo is currently soliciting public suggestions.
If you think of anything good, send it in. Peanut is already taken.
