Movember Mustache Fundraiser @ The Market
To celebrate the end of Movember, The Market is hosting an event to help The Renewal Center, which works to improve the lives of homeless men in Shanghai. Activities include a mustache contest and raffle, which includes gym memberships and golf lessons as prizes. 10% of all proceeds will be given to The Renewal Centre.

Blue Man Group World Tour @ Shanghai Cultural Square
Catch the last day of Blue Man Group in Shanghai. A dynamic combination of music, comedy and technology, the show appeals to a broad range of age groups and cultural backgrounds. It is continually refreshed with new music, new stories, new instruments and new technology.

The traditional German Christkindlmarkt (otherwise known as Christmas Market) lands in Shanghai this Christmas from Dec 3rd to the 11th at Tonglefang. If you’ve ever wanted to experience the wonderful wintertime charm of the old world, then the Jing’an Christkindlmarkt is the place for you. With beautifully decorated stalls offering handicrafts, gifts, festive baked treats, glühwein (mulled wine) and various hot drinks to keep you warm as well as delicious regional specialties from Germany and other countries. There will be a Christmas crib with animals, choirs and Santa Klaus to make all your wishes come true! It’s free Monday to Wednesday and it’s ¥40 on Thursday to Sunday (including one mulled wine/ punch).

Sand Song @ Daguan Theatre
Contrasting contemporary dance with traditional artifacts that surround sculptures and sand, Sand Song renews an indigenous Australian myth. In the myth, an anthropomorphized brolga, a large Australian bird, steals an emu’s egg. When the brolga finally relents, the brolga accidentally breaks the egg to create a powerful ball of light and fire. Sand Song opens this Wednesday.

Christmas Fair: Magical Forest @ Shanghai Centre
It’s starting to feel a lot like Christmas! Enter the magical forest to start off the Christmas festivities at the Shanghai Centre. This event is ongoing now until December the 19th with activities suited for all ages – perfect for you to spend a unique Christmas with your loved ones this December. There will be vendors, live performances, Christmas foods and drinks, lucky draws, presents from Santa, and more. For those needing last minute Christmas shopping, there will be booths with designer clothing, home decoration, jewellery, an interactive photo booth (for the Instagram lovers), a Santa house for kids to meet Santa. There will also be virtual reality games, Zumba workshops, and choir performances by the Swedish Community & Friends of the Vienna Boys Choir.

ACT Shanghai International Theatre Festival @ Dramatic Arts Center
Asian Contemporary Theatre Shanghai International Theatre Festival, hosted by Shanghai Dramatic Arts Centre (SDAC), is an annual event introducing international contemporary performing arts works and a platform for artists and audience to meet through theatre. Started in 2005, ACT now celebrates their 12th birthday and have expanded its reach beyond, though maintaining a focus on Asia artists and their works. Check out their website here.
