Bus station in the way of your fancy new high-speed rail line? No problem for Chinese engineers who are experts at rotating extremely large things.
Earlier this month, engineers in the Fujian city of Xiamen managed to successfully rotate an entire bus terminal weighing over 30,000 tons by 90 degrees to make way for a new train line. After the rotation was complete, not even a single pane of glass in the station was damaged.
While some may argue that planners should have instead formulated a new route for the train tracks, such thinking will not win you a Guinness World Record.
