Following more than four months of protests, one elderly woman in Hong Kong is tired as hell of all the inconvenience and isn’t going to take it anymore.
Video has gone viral of the woman, who says she’s 70, going on a furious rant against protesters while cleaning up the traffic cones, bricks, and barricades that they left in the street.
“So many of you people could be doing something, but what do you do? You block people from getting about,” she says. “What good is that? You explain that to me?”
“Explaining things to you is fucking useless!” one protester responds.
“I’m really against you guys blocking the road. If you kill people, set fires, I don’t care. But you’re blocking the road,” she continues. “Thank goodness you’re not my children.”
“I know you want to beat me to death. Beat me to death, that would be good. I will be the first blood of this ‘revolution.'”
The argument goes on from there as the granny goes on with her work. After earlier shining a laser light at the woman, one protester eventually steps forward and tries to force a Chinese flag into her hand. “Don’t set me up. You guys always do that,” she snaps.
Footage of the woman’s 10-minute-long rant uploaded by the South China Morning Post has reached nearly 400,000 views on YouTube. Meanwhile, the video has made its way onto Chinese social media where netizens are declaring the granny a “hero.”
