The only thing able to quiet down China’s notorious dancing aunties is the country’s annual college entrance examination.
On Tuesday in the Liaoning city of Fushun, nearly 100 aunties gathered at a public square to get some exercise and practice their moves.
However, rather than blasting music, the aunties practiced in silence, even wearing tennis shoes to keep the noise to a minimum.
The ladies told reporters that they felt like it was their duty to stay as quiet as possible to avoid disturbing students taking the gaokao.
While China’s dancing aunties have occasionally relented to some noise-reducing efforts, they are better known for their recalcitrance, bruising cops and tussling with basketball players who try and interfere with their exercise.
