A driver in Jilin province was delayed a bit in getting to where he was going recently after spotting a wild Siberian tiger relaxing in the middle of the road.
Footage filmed by the driver on a road outside the city of Hunchun, located in the far northwestern corner of China, shows the tiger laying on the road and roaming around the pavement.
The driver says that it took about 20 minutes for the animal to finally jump off the road and leave.
Living in the border area around China, Russia, and North Korea, wild Siberian tigers are extremely rare with an estimated population of just around 500 living in the wild including as few as 20 in China.
Though there are still hundreds more living in captivity where they are kept more than well-fed.
